Sacramental Preparation for
Solemn Holy Communion
In order to be eligible to
receive Solemn Holy Communion, a child must: have
documental proof that he/she has been baptized; be at
least seven years of age; and, at a minimum, be
attending the second grade in school. He/she must also
successfully complete the Communion Education Programme
sponsored by our Parish. It must also be strongly
emphasized, at this point, that a child's religious
education does not end with the reception of Solemn Holy
Communion. Religious education is a lifetime commitment,
and an obligation that each one of us has as Christians
baptized into the Church, the Body of Christ. The
Preparation Program for this year is already in progress
with Solemn Holy Communion taking place on Sunday, March
25, 2007. A rehearsal for this ceremony, and First
Confession, will be held on the preceding
Saturday.
The teachers of this Programme are
Stacia Horbay and Marion Esakin; and the Coordinator is
Veronica Chelack.
